Session not reaching the API. If this page is http://localhost… but _config.yml uses a different host (e.g. https://…opencodingsociety.com), the browser often will not send your login cookie on API calls — so you look logged in here but the server sees a guest.

Fix A (local dev): open this site as http://localhost:… (not GitHub Pages), run Flask on port 8327, and sign in again. The Events page uses events_api_local_url from _config.yml when the hostname is localhost.
Fix B (remote API): on the server .env set SESSION_COOKIE_CROSS_SITE=1 (and HTTPS only). Deploy team must allow your frontend origin in CORS.

Open login after changing API URL or server config.
